We are excited to announce that our VP of Content, Jayne Haugen Olson, was last night’s recipient of The Content Council’s 2015 Best Content Director Award at the Pearl Awards in New York City.

The international award was introduced in 2014 by The Content Council to highlight a thought leader in content creation with a proven track record in meeting and exceeding the business and/or marketing goals of their clients. Formerly the Custom Content Council, The Content Council is a highly regarded resource for content marketing education and insights.

“Jayne exemplifies what we all strive to do here at MSP Communications: produce high quality, original and results-driven content and strategy for our clients,” said Gary Johnson, president of MSP Communications. “We couldn’t be more proud of Jayne winning this prestigious award by The Content Council. All of us who work with Jayne know how deeply she deserves this recognition. She is a singular talent when it comes to crafting a content strategy for a defined audience and one of the very best in doing so with creativity, innovation and tenacity.”

A 20-year veteran of the agency, Olson leads the editorial and design teams at MSP Communications, including the company’s custom content division, MSPC. Olson’s approach to content creation, packaging and presentation comes from her combined experience in journalism, retail and marketing. Her multi-channel approach and key understanding of voice and tone—both verbally and visually—influences the way she guides ideation, storytelling, and content packaging to capture the attention of today’s busy consumers.

As vice president of content, Olson oversees the work of more than 70 content creators in editorial and design. They develop content for 15 proprietary and custom magazines as well as a growing digital agency representing more than 7,500 pages of content annually and reaching more than 150 million consumers each year.

Continuing to be active in daily creative work, Olson serves as editor-in-chief of Delta Air Line’s Sky magazine, the world’s leading onboard magazine with more than 5 million monthly readers. She also leads creative content strategy and execution for numerous MSPC clients, including global brands such as UnitedHealthcare, Optum, 3M and a leading international food manufacturer.

The content teams at MSPC have received Emmys, Pearl Awards (The Content Council) and Page One awards, and have received other awards from organizations such as the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Association of Travel Journalists, FOLIO magazine, City and Regional Magazine Association (CRMA), Minnesota Magazine Publishing Association (MMPA) and many others.

“I am honored to represent MSP Communications and all of the phenomenal storytelling we do for our clients and audiences,” said Olson. “We’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the world’s leading companies to revolutionize the content marketing industry and I’m excited for what the future holds.”
